Sooo I’ve been thinking, scary thought I know, but hear me out lol. I want to be bringing you guys more reviews but some will simply be more like a quick thoughts drop, instead of a complete ramble. I’ll still be doing those, so don’t worry if you enjoy the inner ramblings of my brain lol. But I’ve recently realised there are plenty of books that I read and leave a simple one or two paragraphs, sharing a rough idea on where my thoughts were at etc. So why not do it here as well? This new style of reviews won’t be long and will literally just be a random sharing or whatever it may be…bringing you, hopefully, more of what you love and chatting about books and life.
I’m hoping that by doing these smaller side-post-reviews, it’ll allow me to share more of the books I’m reading, keeping you in the loop of what books are cycling through my life…and hopefully, will make you feel more connected with me in the book community and life, in general. Reading and talking about books is my life and one of the things I truly love to do. As you may already know, books are more like my friends to me, even more so since becoming chronically sick…I want you guys to feel that connection in my reading journeys, sharing all the books I can with you.
I hope you guys like or even better, love this new direction as well. I’d love to see us chatting more and sharing our thoughts, especially if it’s a book you’ve read or want to. Let’s connect and share in that same love and passion. 📚 💗
Well, we all survived and made it to the new year. So happy New Year to all my fellow Ramblers I wish you all the happiest things in this year. Lots of books and all the things that you love and cherish. Remember to hold all those things close to your heart.
Now it’s time to look at some of the books that helped me survive through the year. Seriously, books give us so much more than a lot of people realise. In no particular order here are some of the books that stood out for me this year. Since I read like 194 books I did just pick some random ones from that list lol.
With so many amazing books released last year…let’s hear your faves of 2021. As always this is going to be really hard for me to narrow down but let’s see what happens. These are just a few that definitely made it to my list (if the book is part of a book series please include all currently released books within that lol 😆). Since many that know me realise I can’t number faves this is obviously in no particular order lol 😊

Eeek, I’ve been so, so excited about sharing information about this book and the time has finally come! Guys, this is a book you have got to make time for. I’ve beta read this book and it’s AHHH-MAZING!! So calling all Shifter and Paranormal Romance lovers …this is going to be right down your alley. But to be honest, it’s a book that’ll speak to most book lovers, just sayin’….because who doesn’t love an angsty, rejected mates shifter book, with intriguing worlds? Count. Me. In. 😍

Today’s reveal though is from my lovely friend Everly Frost! She has an upcoming release, 22nd of April, and it’s a short novella, Assassin’s Match! You may have already had a read of this one, because it was featured in The Monster Ball: Year Two Anthology. But now it’s going out into the world as it’s own little book…and guys it’s absolutely stunning. I’m in love with it!! 😍😍

As I said I’m crazy obsessed with this series and it feels like I’ve waited for this day forever plus a day… so thank you, thank you chica for sharing your work with me, so I could be one of the first readers! I can’t even express how much this makes me happy! So, I just had to share a picture of it before I dove in. If you don’t hear from me, it’s probably coz I’m reading. Sooo a VERY special someone to me, Jeannie Anderson, did this unbelievably incredible thing for me because she knows how hard this year has been on me and wanted me to feel super special and loved and MAN she has 1500% blown me away. I’m so so excited to finally have been able to start Pawn by Karen Lynch. Anyone who knows me, knows how much I LOVE the Relentless Series by her and since hearing about this new series I was all over it! I do have a few ARC’s that I need to be reading but the call for this book was strong. I just couldn’t ignore it. So I’m dividing my time up between all the books I need to read lol.
So you know that feeling you get when reading a book and then something crazy happens?! And you just have to walk away from your book because you need to process your emotions? Yeah that’s me currently. I’m feeling this 👇🏻 hard.
So I totally have to tell you guys all about what happened Friday afternoon because it is totally worth blogging about. So last night I got to finally meet a favourite author of mine! Eek I know right! We have been messaging for awhile now and when I heard she was in Sydney for BABE (book event that is happening today). When Heather learnt that I couldn’t go for many reasons relating to my health, she amazed me by taking time out of her busy schedule to catch up! How awesome is that?!
So off I went with my family into the city, coz there was no way I could’ve gotten there myself lol, so we made a family trip and they dropped me off at the hotel Heather was staying at. I don’t know about Heather but the moment I saw her and we just went in for a hug I just felt us click. We sat down got some food and chatted like we had done it a million times before. It was just incredible finally being able to meet you! It means more than words can honestly express but I was just so happy that this happened. After some pretty hard news the day before this was a very nice change up!
I’m so glad we were able to make this happen. And no amount of thanking you Heather can express how awesome it was that you made this happen!! You are the absolute best and a beautiful soul! ❤️
I then finished the day off with my family, while my little nephews munched on some food and played at the park.
